Aprilia, however, is taking a more cautious approach, conducting thorough bench testing before their anticipated spring debut.

Rivola emphasizes the importance of learning from the past, stating, "Everything we've learned so far will be incredibly useful for the 2027 bike." He adds, "It's not a direct copy, but there's a wealth of knowledge to be transferred from engine design to aerodynamics and chassis development."

And this is the part most people miss... Aprilia's current RS-GP, which Marco Bezzecchi recently secured second place with at Sepang, is almost ready for its big reveal. Rivola confirms that the base specification is nearly finalized, with only minor adjustments left to be made during the final development phase in Thailand.

"The package is 80-90% fixed, and we'll fine-tune the details at the Thailand test. It's an exciting time for the team," he enthuses.

But it's not just the factory team that's making waves. Aprilia's satellite team, Trackhouse, has also been a valuable contributor to the development process. With riders Raul Fernandez and Ai Ogura providing consistent feedback, Rivola highlights the benefits of having multiple perspectives on the track.

"Riders offer different insights, but their comments align, which is incredibly helpful. Having four official bikes on track with experienced riders like Ai and Raul is a huge advantage," he explains.
