The renowned itinerant art and design showcase, Nomad, has joined forces with the iconic Giorgio Armani Group for a captivating exhibition in Saint Moritz. This marks Nomad's ninth flagship edition, and it's set to be an unforgettable experience, running until Sunday within the elegant confines of the 19th-century Villa Beaulieu.
This remarkable project, aptly named “Giorgio Armani / Unveiled,” features a special exhibition titled “Through the Looking Glass: Jane Crisp and Yuta Segawa.” This segment delves into the fascinating interplay between masterful craftsmanship and the sophisticated world of the Armani/Casa collection. Curated by the esteemed Abby Bangser, founder and creative director of Object & Thing, this initiative promises a deep dive into cultural richness and artisanal excellence.
But here's where it gets even more intriguing: the exhibition will also host a series of insightful talks. These discussions will bring together prominent figures from the international art and culture scene, esteemed collectors, and influential trendsetters, all convening at the late designer’s former private residence in Saint Moritz. Imagine the conversations that will unfold!
Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte, co-founder of Nomad, beautifully articulated the philosophy behind their approach: “Each edition is thoughtfully embedded in its location, presenting collectible design not as spectacle, but as an intimate, site-responsive conversation shaped by context and cultural intent.” He further elaborated, “Here, luxury emerges organically from spatial rhythm, material integrity, and the unique constellation of people and ideas gathered.” It’s a vision that prioritizes depth and connection over mere display.
And this is the part most people miss: beyond the central Armani collaboration, the exhibition also highlights other exciting ventures. One such project is a collaboration between artist Margherita Castiglioni (daughter of Plan C founder Carolina Castiglioni) and the newly established Sorgin Gallery in San Sebastián, founded in 2024 by Brazilian art and design dealer Mirian Badaró. This particular display will offer a compelling juxtaposition, presenting timeless furniture pieces by Brazilian modernist masters Joaquim Tenreiro and José Zanine Caldas alongside the innovative creations of contemporary artisans Adeline Halot, Joseba Lekuona, and Eduardo Chillida.
